Starting out 12/7/12
In 2006 I began volunteering for an Hamotzi, an organization that provides hot meals for the homeless and abused women of San Francisco. A group of four to six people would gather together to pump out trays of food that were wholesome, nutritious and great tasting. At this point it became evident that food was something I was truly interested in, as well as bringing large groups of people over one common interest. For this Keystone I envisioned creating something that would be beneficial and available to everyone, especially college students. My intent is to create a tangible cookbook with the help of family friend Gabi Moskowitz, who successfully started an online blog with thousands of recipes at low costs for everyone. This turned into a brand in 2011, when the BrokeAss Gourmet cookbook was published and came to life. Along with Gabi, we hope to change the way that college students eat and the effects that food and nutrition have on them. A food revolution - BrokeAss Gourmet style.
